Vitamin C Definition

Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin which acts as antioxidant and therefore is essential for the immunity system and helps the body fight infections and maintains its health.
Vitamin C has variety of roles in the human's body.
It has important role in the creation of collagen which helps the skin to heal when wounded.
Vitamin C It is responsible for many enzymes activities and therefore helps to maintain strong teeth and bones, helps to maintain healthy gums, and blood vessels.
 

Sources of Vitamin C

Food sources for vitamin C are: broccoli, tomatoes, peppers, citrus fruit (such as: oranges), potatoes, strawberries, green leaves vegetable, and many more.
 

Lack of Vitamin C

Not enough Vitamin C may cause weakness, tiredness, depression, etc.
When a lot of vitamin C is lack the person might suffer from scurvy which is a disease who causes bones pain, lose of teeth, nose bleeds, gum infections, bleeding gums, wounds has difficulties to heal, and more.
Lack of Vitamin C may also lead to anemia which makes the person look pale, suffer from strong heart beat, and more.
 

Excess of Vitamin C

Too much vitamin C may cause stomach aches, diarrhea, and nausea.
