Vitamin B12 Definition

Vitamin B12 is a water soluble vitamin which is essential for normal nerve cell activity.
Vitamin B12 helps to regenerate red blood cells therefore important to prevent anemia and essential for metabolism.
Vitamin B12 is also essential to create the genetic material of the cells and therefore helps in growth and development.
 

Sources of Vitamin B12

The best source for Vitamin B12 is liver. It can also be found in soymilk, soybeans, eggs, clams, salmon, crab, milk, dairy products, and more.
 

Lack of Vitamin B12

Lack of vitamin B12 causes lack of red blood cell which leads to anemia, which can lead to other problems as well. Lack of Vitamin B12, in severe cases, may also cause lose of memory and depression.
The first symptoms that appear when a person is lack of Vitamin B12 are: tiredness, strong heartbeats, dizziness, headaches, diarrhea, weight loss, and more.
 

Excess of Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 has a very low potential for toxicity, therefore is usually not harmful.
