Treat Sunburn with vitamins

Treat Sunburn with Vitamin C

One of the many roles of Vitamin C is as a collagen builder. Collagen is the medical term given to skin tissues.
When Vitamin C is used topically, it can stimulate the production of skin cells, which speeds up the healing process of sunburns.
Vitamin C also has the ability to protect the skin from the harmful rays of the sun. It does not work like a sunshield, though. What Vitamin C does is it finds all the free radicals in the skin, as caused by exposure to the sun and flushes them away.

Vitamin E can help Sunburn

Vitamin E works exactly like Vitamin C. However, Vitamin E should be applied only after being exposed to the sun. It would soothe your skin and prevent further burns.
It is even advisable to apply Vitamin E several hours after sun exposure. If you apply Vitamin E on the skin before going out, the effects will be the exact opposite. Free radicals will be formed in the skin, causing burning and darkening.

Vitamin A for Sunburn

Vitamin A also offers protection from free radicals formed during sun damage. And just like the other vitamins, it is best that Vitamin A is applied directly to the sunburn for the best effects.
There are several skin lotions that have Vitamin A included in the ingredients list. You can use them, provided that they are mild enough for sun-exposed skin.

Sunburn - definition

Sunburn is common to both children and adults, especially during the summer season where everybody is out enjoying on the beach.
Sunburn can be defined as an overexposure to the ultraviolet rays of the sun. When the sun burns the skin, it appears red in color and is a little hot to the touch. Sunburn may also cause dizziness and fatigue. Ignoring severe sunburn could lead to life-threatening diseases like skin cancer.
If you had spent too much time in the sun and are suffering from sunburn, there are some vitamins suggestions that you can use to help alleviate your condition.
