Vitamins For Cystic Fibrosis

Treat Cystic Fibrosis with vitamins

Treat Cystic Fibrosis with vitamin A

Patients suffering from cystic fibrosis are prone to developing hypervitaminosis A.
This is the main reason why such patients need to have adequate amounts of Vitamin A in their bodies. Other than that, vitamin A deficiency could lead to night blindness.

Vitamin D for Cystic Fibrosis

Children and adults who are deficient in Vitamin D have higher chances of developing osteopenia and osteoporosis. Therefore, it is a must that patients with this disease increase their Vitamin D intake. Aside from those diseases, rickets and osteomalacia may also occur.

Vitamin E for Cystic Fibrosis

Patients with cystic fibrosis are prone to developing neurological problems if they are Vitamin E deficient.
Vitamin E, as a potent anti-oxidant, works to protect the cell membranes of the lungs and the stomach. It also controls the progression of lung diseases. Higher dosage of Vitamin E may be required for patients under severe cases of cystic fibrosis.

Vitamin K for Cystic Fibrosis

Patients who underwent surgery for cystic fibrosis are advised to take substantial amounts of Vitamin K.
But other than that, the role of vitamin K in the functions of the pancreas is essential. Cystic fibrosis was once known as pancreatic cystic fibrosis.

Level up the intake of these vitamins if you know for sure that you suffer from cystic fibrosis.
Although they don't directly help in relieving the disease, they certainly help in the management of the symptoms related to cystic fibrosis.

Cystic Fibrosis - What is it?

Cystic fibrosis is a disease of the digestive system and the lungs. It is a progressive disability that could lead to early death when left ignored.
There are also proofs that cystic fibrosis is a hereditary disease that could affect people coming from a certain bloodline. Cystic fibrosis mostly targets the pancreas.
Fat-soluble vitamins are the most effective defense system against this disease.
