Copper Definition

Copper is a mineral which is an important part of the enzymes and protein of the body.
The copper is important in producing hemoglobin and red blood cells. The copper helps to maintain strong bones and also helps in formatting collagen which helps the skin to heal when wounded and elastin, which gives the skin its flexibility. The copper also has a role in pigmentation, creating the color of the hair and skin.
 

Sources of Copper

Copper can be found in green vegetables, liver, shellfish (lobsters, oysters), nuts, pumpkin, beans, prunes, mushrooms, whole grain, and many more.
 

Lack of Copper

The body needs a very small amount of copper therefore it is very uncommon to suffer from lack of copper.
Lack if copper may cause anemia, which means there are not enough red blood cells and the person will feel fatigue, tiredness, weakness, strong heart beat, and more. Lack of copper may also cause dry skin, weak bones, and weak hair.
 

Excess of Copper

Too much copper may cause nausea, stomachache, diarrhea, bones pain, liver damages, and more.
