Vitamins for Alzheimer's disease

Treat Alzheimer's disease with Vitamin C

Taking about a vitamin which is a strong antioxidant, this helps in preventing free radical damage to our brain cells. At times a combination of vitamin E and C is known to have better results than just one vitamin, this is probably because the immunity system and energy levels are boosted which does not allow Alzheimer's to set in.

Folic Acid or Vitamin B for Alzheimer's disease

The Folic acid is found to help keep Alzheimer's at bay, with daily consumption of about 400mg of this Vitamin. If a person is not getting required amount of this vitamin, study has found they are more likely to contract Alzheimer's than others who get enough of Folic acid from their diets.

Vitamin E & B6 for Alzheimer's disease

People who took regular multi vitamin pills or followed a regulated and balanced diet which had adequate amount of vitamin E and B6 are also said to have cut down the risk of getting Alzheimer's.

Alzheimer's disease - What is it

Alzheimer's disease is a disease affecting people over 60, and causes deterioration of their body and loss of memory. It is a neurodegenerative condition that makes a person of 65 feel like they are 90 or older, making them frail and very absent minded.
There are three stages to this disease which can be controlled if identified in early stages.
It occurs in people who have suffered some form of head injury or who have a weak heart condition, combined with diabetes, cholesterol or hyper tension and finally in people who are chain smokers. Boxers are said to be most susceptible to this disease because they are constantly taking blows to their head, which leads to dementia, a symptom of Alzheimer's.
There is no complete cure, but there are a few vitamins that will help put off the condition and help the patients.
